Outsourced Credit Control Services

Spot late payers before they become bad debts

Most bad debt shows warning signs weeks before it becomes a problem: slipping payment dates, part-payments, unanswered statements. Recovia's credit control service spots those signals across your ledger and acts on them early, so fewer accounts ever need recovery.

What the service includes

  • Customer credit checks. Checks on new and existing customers before you extend terms, so you know the risk before you take it on.
  • Payment monitoring. Ongoing review of your accounts to spot late payers before balances grow.
  • Reminders, statements and reporting. A consistent schedule of reminders, calls and monthly client statements, with regular reporting. Large commercial accounts get a designated senior contact at Recovia.
  • Risk reporting. Regular reports on arrears, high-risk accounts and recommended actions, to support your cash-flow forecasting.
  • Agreed escalation. A pre-agreed point at which an overdue account moves from credit control to recovery, so nothing drifts.

One firm from invoice to recovery

When the same firm runs your credit control and your recovery, escalation is immediate. There's no re-briefing a new agency, no lost history, and no gap for the debtor to exploit. The evidence gathered during credit control, such as reminders, promises and correspondence, is exactly what a recovery case needs.

Using your statutory rights

For business-to-business sales, the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 lets you charge:

  • statutory interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate
  • fixed compensation of £40 (debts under £1,000), £70 (£1,000 to £9,999.99) or £100 (£10,000 or more) per invoice
  • reasonable costs of recovering the debt

We can build these into your terms and reminders, so customers know late payment has a cost.

Who it suits

  • Businesses without a dedicated credit controller
  • Finance teams that need cover for holidays, growth or a backlog
  • Firms with a few large customers where one late payer affects cash flow
